The Boiler Upgrade Scheme

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a grant to help offset the costs associated with replacing outdated fossil fuel heating systems with more environmentally friendly alternatives like heat pumps or biomass boilers. Fossil fuel systems are generally powered by oil, gas, electricity, or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).

You cannot get a BUS grant if:

  • You are replacing a low carbon heating system.
  • You are installing a hybrid heat pump system
  • You live outside England and Wales.
  • You don't have a valid Energy Performance Certificate.
